How to create a page in WordPress?

When we browse a website we see an informative interface of that website right? We call the first screen a home page or landing page of a site. It will be ridiculous if we think of a website without pages. That means a website is nothing or impossible without pages. Pages are the integral and eternal entities of a website to be built. If you have decided to make a website then you should know what pages are and how to create them to display your vision, mission, and goals.

You can create various distinct pages with attractive designs and alluring layouts to attract viewers to your site. It enables you to create a contact us page, about us page, blog page, sales page, home page, or any type of page your organization requires. Pages are primarily designed for static content that rarely changes over time. Add or create a page #

Add page title #

The first step of creating a page is adding a title. The title of your page should be descriptive of the information the page will contain. Choose a helpful page title.

Start writing content using different blocks #

In your content section, you can present your content in different forms such as headings, paragraphs, tables, lists, add images, videos, and a lot more. You can even change its formatting using the familiar WordPress editing tools. You can change the size, color, alignment, background, typography, or anything else available there to decorate pages with styles. In addition, you can display a bundle of images at once from the gallery block. You can either drag and drop a  block pattern onto your layout or click on the pattern to add it to the bottom of your template. This setting can be seen at the right of the screen. Here you can choose visibility to targeted viewers; public, private, and password detected. Likewise, it lets users choose the day and date to be published. If you want to publish immediately you can choose immediately. Under this page’s settings, you can add a URL and choose a template. Similarly, you can name the Author or choose the author when there are multiple authors. Additionally, it asks you to add a featured image to represent the page as well. However, this won’t be shown on your site but gives social media platforms an image to pull when your page gets shared with social media.

Save Draft, Preview, or Publish #

Before publishing a web page you can see a Preview of how it looks when published. If you wish to publish the page immediately you cal hit Publish button. You can schedule your page to be published in the future, you can use the time and date picker to choose your preferred publication time. If not you can Save Draft so that you can publish it later.

How to arrange WordPress Pages? #

Organizing pages is also the most important task. WordPress arranges pages based on the published date or alphabetical order by default. It further enables you to reorder or rearranges pages. Importantly, it allows you to display your pages in navigation menus or sub-menus. That’s why you can create pages like contact us, about us, blog, categories, log-in pages, product pages, and much more to emphasize the crucial pages to appear at first sight.

You can arrange it from the page where you are creating content. On the right side of your screen, you will see Page Attributes. Under that tab In the box under “Order,” you can put in a numerical value of how you want the page to appear.

At the same time, you can organize pages from Admin Panel> Pages> Quick Edit. Hover over any page you want and click on Quick Edit. The quick edit feature for WordPress gives you access to the administrative portions of the page to order or edit some basic page settings.

Then, find the drop-down menu for Parent. If you want to make this page a subpage or a child of one of your other pages, you can do that here.

Otherwise, you can simply use the Order box to determine how your pages will appear in your website menu. If you leave the number at 0, for example, the selected page will be the first one in the hierarchy. If all pages are set at 0, they will be organized alphabetically.

Once you click on Update, all your settings will be saved. If you add new pages later, you can follow the same steps to organize them within your existing hierarchy.
